Montana House approves proposal for increased look-back period

The Montana House approved a measure to allow courts to look back ten years in an offenders’ record for impaired driving offenses. The bill would allow courts to send out tougher penalties to offenders, such as license suspensions. The current look-back period is five years. Several other impaired driving bills are being introduced in the Legislature this session dealing with increased penalties for repeat offenders and a round-the-clock sobriety system.
